Stopover at Cadillac: gateway to the Entre-deux-Mers region
About thirty kilometres south of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the Garonne, Cadillac, a 13th century bastide town, offers a welcoming and friendly stopover and opens the doors to the fertile territory of Entre-deux-Mers.
The Entre-Deux-Mers, the charm of ancient cities
The entire history of the Entre-Deux-Mers is merged with that of the Garonne. Its unspoilt countryside, its rolling landscapes and its multitude of small peaceful villages reveal a rich heritage, the Abbey of the Sauve-Majeure or the Malagar estate are worth exploring. This territory is also a land of culinary delights where gastronomy results from the meeting of local producers with passionate restaurateurs.
The Entre-deux-Mers, land of vineyards
The Entre-Deux-Mers is a renowned terroir with appellations of golden white wines, sweet (Première Côtes de Bordeaux…) and liqueur-like wines (Loupiac, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont, Cadillac Première Côtes de Bordeaux…) and a panel of reds (Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux, Côtes de Bordeaux…) that make this destination the production area of more than 80% Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations. Finally, the wine estates of remarkable architecture and unique landscape environment paint an Italian tableau that makes the Entre-deux-Mers lauded for its resemblance to “Tuscany”.
